This package supports Ontario pharmacists with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to prescribe for the proposed additional 14 minor ailments recommended by OCP to the MOH to be added to Ontario’s scope of practice.
In May 2026, the Ontario Health Minister announced that 9 ailments will be included to scope of practice for minor ailments prescribing from July 2026, and 5 are expected to be added in early 2027. Some may be subject to conditions or restrictions specified by the College or the Ministry of Health. The package will be regularly updated to align with the latest information and guidelines.
IMPORTANT: This course is tailored to a specific province or territory. However, pharmacists from all locations are welcome to register and use professional judgment to apply the learnings to their own practice where applicable.

Assessment
- All assessments are completed online and consist of multiple-choice tests based on case studies for each minor ailment presentation
- A minimum grade of 70% is required to pass. 4 attempts are provided to achieve a passing grade
- Students receive their results online and can access their statement of completion only after passing
