Course Outline
This program equips health care professionals to offer effective smoking cessation support. It covers updated guidance on prescribing pharmacological therapies, recommending over-the-counter nicotine replacement, and advising on non-pharmacological measures. Learners will explore practical counseling tips, motivational interviewing, and the 5 A's and 5 R's models. Successful completion may also qualify you to bill provincial and third-party payors for smoking cessation services.

Stepwise algorithms based on the 5 A's approach are provided to support patient smoking cessation in everyday practice. These tools include

- A minimum grade of 70% is required to pass. 4 attempts are provided to achieve a passing grade.
